MiraLAX

MiraLAX is an osmotic laxative used to help relieve occasional constipation. MiraLAX is available over the counter in an easy-to-use powder form. MiraLAX contains the active ingredient polyethylene glycol 3350. MiraLAX does not contain gluten, sugar, or preservatives.

MiraLAX is an osmotic laxative. Osmotic laxatives work by drawing water into your colon and keeping it there, which allows the water to hydrate and soften stools. This helps to unblock your system – generally without causing harsh side effects such as gas, bloating, cramping, or urgency.MiraLAX helps to relieve occasional constipation and helps to soften stool.

While results may vary, MiraLAX generally produces a bowel movement in 1 to 3 days. During this time, MiraLAX works with the water in your body to gently unblock your system without causing sudden urgency.

MiraLAX is designed to be taken just once per day. You can take MiraLAX once per day for up to 7 days, or until you experience relief. If you still need a laxative after 7 days, stop using MiraLAX and call your doctor.

MiraLAX comes in an easy-to-use powder form. Adults and children 17 years of age or older can use the MiraLAX cap to measure 17 grams of powder by filling the white section of the cap with powder up to the indicated line. Then simply mix the powder into 4 – 8 ounces of your beverage of choice. If you don’t want to worry about measuring or need an easily portable solution, single-dose packets of MiraLAX are also available. It is important to know that people under the page of 16 should not use MiraLAX without first talking to a doctor. You should always follow the dosage instructions on MiraLAX packaging exactly.
